Plug Web Wallet Is Now Live
Plug Wallet now supports a full web wallet, completing the Plug product suite across browser extension, mobile app, and web. Users can access the same non-custodial wallet from any environment, without compromising on security, control, or functionality.
The Plug Web Wallet is available at https://app.plugwallet.ooo and is built entirely on chain. It is designed to give users direct browser access to their crypto wallet while remaining fully decentralized and non-custodial.
Users can access the web wallet in several ways. Existing Plug users can log in by importing their wallet using a seed phrase, or by authenticating directly with the Plug browser extension. This allows users to move between extension and web seamlessly, using the same wallet and the same accounts.
In addition, the web wallet introduces support for Internet Identity (II). Users can now create a brand-new Plug wallet using Internet Identity, enabling a fully on-chain authentication flow. Internet Identity removes the need for passwords or centralized login systems and is widely considered one of the safest authentication methods available for non-custodial wallets today.
When a wallet is created using Internet Identity, Plug automatically derives native addresses for all supported chains. Users still receive native BTC, ETH, SOL, ICP, and EVM addresses, while benefiting from a simpler and more secure login experience. This makes it possible to use Plug entirely on chain, from authentication to asset management, without relying on external custodial infrastructure.
The launch of the web wallet completes Plug’s vision of a flexible and accessible multi-chain crypto wallet. Whether users prefer mobile, extension, or web, the same wallet can now be accessed across all platforms, with a unified portfolio view and consistent functionality.
